1. Warranty Statement

Gehman Exhaust warrants to the original retail purchaser that each new catalytic converter sold and installed by Gehman Exhaust will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from the date of installation, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions set forth in this warranty. If the catalytic converter is found to be defective in materials or workmanship within the warranty period, Gehman Exhaust will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective converter at no charge for parts. Labor charges associated with diagnosis, removal, and reinstallation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

2. What Is Covered

This limited warranty covers the catalytic converter assembly itself against:

  • Defects in materials, including substrate failure not caused by external factors.
  • Defects in workmanship, including welding, flange, and shell construction defects.
  • Premature substrate breakdown under normal operating conditions.

3. What Is NOT Covered — Warranty Voiding Conditions

This warranty is VOID and Gehman Exhaust will have no obligation under this warranty if the failure of the catalytic converter is caused by, related to, or accompanied by any of the following engine or vehicle conditions:
  1. Engine misfire of any kind, including ignition misfire, fuel-related misfire, or mechanical misfire (P0300–P0312 or equivalent diagnostic trouble codes).
  2. Excessive oil consumption, oil burning, or oil entering the exhaust stream.
  3. Coolant leaks into the combustion chamber or exhaust system, including head gasket failure.
  4. Fuel system malfunction causing a rich or lean condition, including faulty oxygen sensors, mass air flow sensors, fuel injectors, or fuel pressure regulators.
  5. Use of leaded fuel, contaminated fuel, fuel additives not approved by the vehicle manufacturer, or any non-approved aftermarket combustion modifier.
  6. Operating the vehicle with the Check Engine Light, Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), or any emissions-related warning light illuminated.
  7. Damaged, modified, or improperly functioning ignition system components, including spark plugs, plug wires, coils, or distributor.
  8. Damaged, modified, or improperly functioning EGR, PCV, evaporative emissions, or air injection systems.
  9. Engine overheating, engine internal damage, valve train failure, or any condition causing abnormal exhaust gas temperatures.
  10. Any unrepaired engine driveability or emissions condition existing at the time of installation, or any condition that develops after installation and is not promptly repaired.

In addition, this warranty does NOT cover:

  • Physical damage from road hazards, accidents, off-road use, racing, towing beyond manufacturer specifications, or impact damage.
  • Damage from improper installation, including installation performed by anyone other than Gehman Exhaust or an authorized installer.
  • Tampering, modification, removal of internal components, or use of the converter on a vehicle other than the one for which it was originally installed.
  • Rust-through, corrosion, or cosmetic deterioration.
  • Routine wear, exhaust leaks at non-converter joints, or normal aging.
  • Any vehicle that has had its emission control system removed, disabled, or rendered inoperative.
  • Loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, towing, rental vehicles, fuel, lodging, or any other incidental or consequential damages.

4. Owner Responsibilities

To keep this warranty in effect, the original purchaser must:

  1. Operate and maintain the vehicle in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations, including all scheduled maintenance.
  2. Promptly diagnose and repair any engine driveability problem, misfire, illuminated Check Engine Light, or emissions-related fault.
  3. Use only fuels and lubricants specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
  4. Retain the original installation invoice as proof of purchase and installation date.
  5. Return the vehicle and the defective converter to Gehman Exhaust for inspection before any repair or replacement is made.

5. How to Obtain Warranty Service

To make a claim under this warranty, the original purchaser must, within the warranty period:

  1. Contact Gehman Exhaust at the location where the converter was installed.
  2. Present the original dated installation invoice.
  3. Make the vehicle available for inspection by Gehman Exhaust so that the cause of failure can be determined.
  4. If a defect covered by this warranty is confirmed, Gehman Exhaust will repair or replace the converter at no charge for parts, subject to the limitations stated above.
Gehman Exhaust reserves the right to inspect any converter claimed to be defective and to determine, in its sole discretion, whether the failure is the result of a defect in materials or workmanship or is the result of a condition excluded under this warranty.

6. Limitations and Disclaimers

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY PROVIDED BY GEHMAN EXHAUST AND IS GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE (1) YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE. GEHMAN EXHAUST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF USE, COMMERCIAL LOSS, INCONVENIENCE, OR ANY OTHER ECONOMIC LOSS.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

7. Transferability

This warranty is extended only to the original retail purchaser and is not transferable to any subsequent owner of the vehicle.
